How Baltazare leverages Weglot to offer multilingual and translation feature to their customers

Since 2014, Baltazare has specialized in creating WordPress websites for renowned clients such as Candia, Royal Monceau or AXA. Its flexibility and WordPress expertise have enabled the agency to meet the precise needs of their clients and Baltazare now carries out more than 40 projects a year.

The multilingual topic has always been a complicated one for Baltazare. “Like many WordPress agencies, we first started using the WPML plugin to create multilingual sites, but we quickly needed a less complex, easier to use and more efficient solution.” said Guillaume, the founder of Baltazare.

The team then tested the WordPress multisites approach with one site per language, but this solution made the maintenance of their clients’ sites much more complex for the agency. Guillaume discovered Weglot, and was immediately convinced by its smooth integration, ease of use and the responsiveness of its support team.

A solution easy to implement and easy to use

Weglot’s unique way of working makes integration very simple, whether it’s for a new website or for a new version of an existing customer website. Weglot easily adapts to all WordPress themes and translates all content, whether it’s the theme, plugins or the site itself.

Once Weglot is up and running, all the translation management is done in a single interface. “Learning to use Weglot is very easy for us or for our customers. We always create a short video tutorial that explains in a few minutes how to use Weglot to each of them and that’s it”.

Example: The 2019 IChO multilingual website

The latest example to date is the website of the 2019 International Chemistry Olympiad, developed by the Baltazare agency. This international conference takes place in Paris in July 2019 but attracts a community from all over the world. It was therefore necessary to have a website in English and French.

First, Baltazare easily integrated Weglot into the site and adapted the “language switcher” to match the website design. The team was in charge of translating the generic terms of the website, as well as all translations related to the theme. The client then managed the translation of the content itself through their Weglot account.
